    CEO of the Africa Carbon Markets Initiative (ACMI). 

    He is an Independent Board member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants; British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya (a listed entity); ICEA LION Asset Management; and the Financial Sector Deepening Trust, Kenya.

    He has previously been the Chief Executive Officer of ICEA LION General Insurance Kenya, the first African member of the Financial Stability Board TCFD insurer pilot group.   Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive of the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya.  In his term at CMA, he was the Africa and Middle East Regional Chair on the Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

    An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries, he holds qualifications from University of Warwick, London School of Economics and Political Science, Maastricht School of Management, KCA University and the Academy of Executive Coaching.

    EJIRO GRAY

    Executive Director - Governance & Sustainability, Sahara Group

    Ejiro is a lawyer and governance and sustainability professional. Currently, she serves as the Executive Director – Governance & Sustainability of the Sahara Group and in that capacity also heads the Sahara Group Foundation, which is the Social Impact vehicle of the Sahara Group.

    Before taking on this role, Ejiro was Group Company Secretary of the Sahara Group. She is also the first graduate trainee in the history of the organisation to be appointed a director. She is a member of the Women in Energy Network (WIEN), a leading advocacy platform for women in the energy industry value chain. Additionally, she holds the esteemed title of a life member of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, a demonstration of her passionate commitment to environmental and biodiversity conservation in Nigeria.

    As a sustainability thought leader, Ejiro is focused on the need for effective advocacy that promotes a just and inclusive energy transition, as well as the responsibility of corporate organizations in driving socio-economic development through social impact.

    Mimi Mavuti

    Mimi is an award-winning strategic communication and certified sustainability specialist with vast experience spanning over 15 years in Africa and the diaspora. Her expertise spans across a medley of industries including manufacturing, energy and policy.

    She is a GRI certified professional, and holds various other sustainability certificates including ESG Risk Management from the University of Cambridge Online and has completed the Sustainability Leadership Executive Programme at Strathmore Business School, Nairobi. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Corporate Communication and  Public Policy from the Robert Gordon University, UK and a Global Executive MBA from the United States International University – Africa (USIU).

    She is a member of various professional bodies, including the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, the Public Relations Society of Kenya and the Women on Boards Network – Kenya. Mimi is passionate about living and leading by conviction. She is a thought leader who has spoken on matters sustainability and bylined multi-topic opinion pieces in local and regional media, and participates in mentoring upcoming professionals as part of building a legacy of leaders for a sustainable future.

    Ademola Ogunbanjo

    President/CEO, Oando Clean Energy

    Ademola is currently the President/CEO of Oando Clean Energy Ltd (OCEL), a subsidiary of Oando Plc. Prior to this, he served as the Executive Vice President for OCEL. Before becoming Executive Vice President, he was an Executive Council Member and GM of the Business Support Group at Oando Energy Resources where he provides leadership for the Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management and Admin Services, IT, Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility, Governance, and Legal departments


    He has a Certificate in Business, International Relations, and the Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a scholar of the Said Business School, University of Oxford, and HEC Business School, Paris where he studied Consulting and Coaching for Change. He has a B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

    He trained as an Internal Consultant and Coach at Oxford Management Consulting, UK, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, and a member of the Institute of Directors. A SEC-certified Market Analyst, Ademola holds an Executive Masters Certificate in Project Management from the PM College, London.

    Ademola is also the CEO of Proviant Integrated Services Limited, a social engineering company with a focus on the Niger Delta region towards the protection of E&P assets. His earlier career included a 4-year stint at the National Bank of Nigeria Limited where he became the pioneer Regional Retail Manager, South-West Region.

    He worked briefly with MTN’s Sales and Distribution division, and later moved to Vmobile Nigeria (now known as Airtel Nigeria Limited) to assume the role of Strategy Executive, Corporate & SME Segments.

    Ademola joined Ocean and Oil Holdings (OOH) as Manager, Energy Investments; his role was to deliver on the MSA/TSA between OOH and Oando Plc., covering such functions as Human Resources, Energy Services and Sales & Marketing. He later co-pioneered the startup of an OOH subsidiary, Avaizon Consulting Limited, a Strategy, Execution Management and Business Performance Coaching firm he headed as Chief Executive Officer having previously served as VP, Strategy and Performance Coaching for two years.


    With core expertise in strategy, execution management, organisational design and development, transaction management, business opportunity assessment, performance management, leadership coaching, etc., Ademola has worked with diverse clients such as the Oando Group, Imo, Kaduna, Lagos, Cross River, Ondo, Ogun and Kano States of Nigeria, the World Bank, DfID, Airtel Nigeria, Interswitch, BankPHB, The Liberian Government, Triton Aviation, First Bank Plc., and a number of HNIs.

    Habiba Sulieman. Head of Strategic Partnerships,TGI Group

    Habiba is currently the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at the Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group. Her diverse track record spans over a decade across Agribusiness, Investment Banking, Impact Investment, Development Research, Gender, and Social Inclusion.

    She has served on several government committees including the Nigerian Domestic and External

    Engagement committees on the African Continental Free Trade Area; as Consultant for the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN) on free trade concessions pursuit and private sector representative on the Africa Regional Forum (ARF). Habiba is member of the Katsina State Management Development Board and serves as Company Representative on the Ecowas Rice Observatory (ERO), and the Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG) Boards respectively.

    In 2023, she was awarded by Donors for Africa as one of 50 leading African Women in Development and in December 2020, Habiba successfully drove the pioneer $10 million USAID-West African Trade Hub partnership in Africa. This project supported over 10,000 smallholder rice farmers with Agri-financing, Extension Support, Capacity Building, Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience, Financial Inclusion and Mechanization support in addition to advancing overall transformation of smallholder livelihoods and inclusion for Women and Youth.

    Habiba has an MSc in Policy & Development Studies, a Master’s in Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies and a bachelor’s in international studies. She is an Oracle Certified Associate, a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, and holds an ACCA diploma in Accounting and Business amongst other professional certifications.

    Tosin Leye- Odeyemi

    Head,  Sustainability, Risk and Capital Management and  Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc.

    Tosin Leye-Odeyemi is the Head, HoldCo Risk, Capital Management and Sustainability at Stanbic IBTC Holding Plc. She is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Stanbic IBTC Trustees Limited. She joined the Stanbic IBTC Group in December 2002, over the last 20 years, she has held various leadership roles in the Internal Control Unit, Compliance Unit, Investment Management Division and Finance Department.

    Olaitan Olatunde

    Reputational & Sustainability Risk Manager, Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited

    Olaitan is a seasoned business leader and sustainability advocate with 20 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, commercial banking, consulting, strategy and sustainability.

    She is currently the Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles (NSBP) Steering Committee. And she leads the monthly deliberations of all the Sustainability Managers from all Nigerian Banks. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the Nigerian Business Disability Network.

    She is at the forefront of driving the implementation of sustainable banking principles in Nigeria, in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) strategy, and this agenda is being pushed by continuous engagements with relevant stakeholders who are responsible for embedding Sustainability. She also supports other West African offices of Standard Chartered Bank with their implementation of sustainability in their activities and operations. 

    Her main areas of interest are environmental conservation, ⁠renewable energy, ⁠eco-friendly practices, ⁠sustainable development, ⁠climate change mitigation, and ⁠diversity, equity & inclusion.

    Olaitan is a graduate of Agric-Economics and Extension from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State. She also possesses 2 MBAs from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the Lagos Business School of Pan-Atlantic University. 

    Damilola Feyide

    Lead, SME Strategy & Development, Providus Bank

    Damilola Feyide is an experienced business strategist with over five years at ProvidusBank, where she leads SME development and strategy. She is focused on driving growth and innovation to position the bank as a leader in SME banking. Additionally, she is the CEO/Founder of THEO by LISA, a tech-driven education platform.

    Damilola holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sheffield and a Master’s in International Business from SOAS University of London, with specialized training in Child Rights and Protection from HarvardX.

    Titilayo Oshodi

    Sp Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Climate action and Circular Economy

    Titi Oshodi is an accomplished administrative executive and change management leader with almost three decades of experience in senior management roles. She is a youth advocate, a social reformer, a passionate climate enthusiast and a visionary advocate for Africa’s green economy revolution. The continent stands on the brink of transformative change, and she emphasizes the immense potential of its wealth of human capital, abundant mineral resources, and unique interconnectivity advantages.

    Her work inspires audiences to harness Africa’s assets for sustainable development and innovative climate solutions. More than that, it reflects her unwavering commitment to fostering a greener future for Africa, positioning her as a leading voice in the movement towards a sustainable and prosperous continent. Titi holds memberships with the Society for Corporate Ethics & Compliance (SCCE), a product of varied Harvard Kennedy courses and a Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) member. 

    She focuses on mobilizing youth through character education and is committed to continuous learning. Titi actively participates in various board capacities and committees and is the Deputy Vice Chairman of the Public Policy and Advocacy Committee on the Governing Council of CIPM. She currently serves as the Special Advisor on Climate Change and Circular Economy to the Governor of Lagos State. In addition to her public service, she showcases her entrepreneurial spirit through The Nooks Cafe, where she excels in mixology and barista services.

    Afolabi Akinrogunde

    Snr. Deal Lead/Business Opportunity Manager, Shell Energy Nigeria

    Afolabi is a commercial professional with almost 25 years of proven & practical experience in the renewables, investment, gas & power & stakeholder management experience. His areas of expertise include deal delivery & governance in renewables, venture capital, investment management, program management, oil, gas and power infrastructure.

    He’s currently playing a critical deal maturation and delivery role at Shell Energy Nigeria, with a mandate to support the creation of a $1bln per annum revenue business within an agreed timeframe, with direct responsibility for delivering on the organization’s current primary projects with the gas and power ecosystem.

    From 2019 to 2023, ‘Folabi was Chief Investment Officer at All On, Nigeria’s premier Impact Investing company, focused purely on energy access, offgrid energy and the energy transition. At All On, ‘Folabi and his team managed a portfolio of over 54 investee companies which include some of the most innovative companies working to solve Nigeria’s deep energy access challenges. He delivered a more than three-fold growth in the size, shape and scope of All On’s business – delivering investments in companies worth tens of millions of Dollars, impacting tens of thousands of homes and small business. and leading the charge in powering innovation in the Nigerian energy access space.

    Over the course of his career, ‘Folabi has identified, progressed and successfully negotiated over 30 gas supply agreements for Shell Nigeria Gas Limited – generating over $240million in gas sales. He has also worked within the Economics/Planning unit of Shell Petroleum Development Company, Nigeria’s largest upstream energy operator, where he supported its multibillion dollar onshore, shallow water and exploration businesses – facilitating investment and portfolio-based decision-making for some of Nigeria’s biggest oil and gas projects and assets. 

    He has written articles and spoken on various public fora on energy, gas, power and the energy transition with a key focus on finding integrated, unique, Nigeria-centric solutions to its energy challenges.

    He has a rich multidisciplinary experience and background, with first and post-graduate degrees in the humanities, public and international affairs and business administration. His ability to identify environmental dynamics and trends and translate them into actionable corporate insights and deliverables is respected within the Nigerian energy ecosystem. He is a trusted informal advisor to many startups in the ecosystem and speaks regularly at industry events.

    In his spare time, ‘Folabi enjoys swimming, reading, playing chess and discussing geopolitics. He is married to ‘Folasade and is currently focused on ensuring his 3 children graduate from their current degrees in university.

    Jocelyne Landry Tsonang

    Project Manager Africa, Green Bond Corporation

    Jocelyne Landry Tsonang is an environmental and natural resource management expert working at the intersection of climate, biodiversity, sustainable finance, circular economy and gender with over ten (10) years of experience. She is currently the Project Manager for Africa at Green Bond Corporation, a Luxembourg-based green finance and carbon market company, where she supports African governments and the private sector in issuing green bonds, structuring carbon projects/markets and using sustainable/climate finance instruments to finance their sustainable development goals, including energy and ecological transition.

    Jocelyne is a non-executive director of the African Circular Economy Network and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Sustainable Use of Resources. She has supported several countries in Africa in developing circular economy policies, including Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda,Ghana, Tunisia and Cameroon. She holds a Master’s Degree in Forestry Science from the University of Yaoundé I in Cameroon, is a Young African Leaders Fellow, a programme for mid-career policy professionals from the School of Transnational Governance at the European University Institute, and is currently completing a Certified Expert in NDC Strategy and Financing programme at the University of Frankfurt.

    Dr. Eugene Itua.CEO of Natural Eco Capital

    Dr. Eugene O. Itua is a renowned sustainability expert with over 25 years of experience in environmental management. As the CEO of Natural Eco Capital, Dr. Itua has led transformative projects in collaboration with global organisations such as the AfDB, World Bank, and UN. His work spans across critical areas, including climate resilience, sustainable development, and low-emissions strategies.

    He serves on numerous boards, including the UNDP Africa Green Business Initiative and NECA, and is a Fellow of professional societies focused on risk, safety, and environmental sustainability. Dr. Itua’s contributions as a consultant, project lead, and advisor have significantly shaped Nigeria’s environmental landscape and global sustainability efforts.

    Hasnain Ishtiaq

    Hasnain is a highly skilled supply chain professional with 14 years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Project Management. He has strong leadership skills and a passion for improving processes and profitability in manufacturing. He has a deep understanding of the Tobacco Industry, with expertise in areas such as Supply Chain Planning, Warehousing, Logistics, Quality Management, and Plant Maintenance.

    Starting his career in the Textile sector, Hasnain joined British American Tobacco (BAT) in 2007 as a Team Leader in Bangladesh. He has since held various roles, including Supply Chain Manager in Malaysia and Head of Manufacturing in Bangladesh. Currently, he is the Head of Operations for West & Central Africa. Hasnain holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA specializing in Human Resource Management.

    Bolarinwa is the CEO of QOWOKONI & PARTNERS , an ESG Strategy, Risk Management  Firm based in Lagos.  Bolarinwa worked for over two decades in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria, Europe and America. He was at different times the ESG Business opportunity Manager for Shell Companies in Nigeria, Sustainable Development Manager for Shell Petroleum Development Company, and Shell Fellow for Anglophone West and East Africa with Africare in Washington D.C,USA.

    He holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the Center for Environment, Development and Policy (CEDEP) of The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London, Master of Science, Agricultural Economics, He is an Alumnus of the University of Cambridge Program on Sustainability Leadership and holds the FSA Credential of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation

    Teni Majekodunmi

    Climate Advisor, Foreign & Commonwealth Development Organisation (PACE)

    Tenioye Majekodunmi is a distinguished climate finance expert and environmental lawyer with 17 years of experience in the clean energy and climate change sectors. Her work has centered on advancing policies that promote a circular economy, empower youth and women through green job initiatives, and support environmental protection. Currently serving as Lead Climate Advisor for the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Tenioye brings unparalleled expertise in sustainable finance, with a focus on green bonds, climate funds, and ESG reporting.

    In addition to her advisory role at the FCDO, she is the Climate Finance Adviser to the Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change in Nigeria, where she leads the formulation of climate finance strategies aligned with national and international sustainability commitments. As a board member of various organizations and a founding consultant of EcoXchange Limited, Tenioye is a recognized leader in sustainable development, deeply committed to shaping a resilient, low-carbon future for Africa.

    Managing Director, Africa Operations, Modern West Advisory

    Otome leads the Modern West Advisory African business unit, as Managing Director African Operations, providing advisory services on carbon markets, ESG and GHG accounting to organizations in the African region. He is a Technical and Commercial professional with about two (2) decades in the energy industry across various jurisdictions. He has served in various leadership roles across various disciplines including Petroleum Engineering, Commercial Operations, Business Development, gas portfolio strategy, sustainability/ESG for independent and multinational organizations including Baker Hughes, Shell etc.

    He is also passionate about clean cooking and serves on various boards that promote LPG penetration across the African continent.

    Jackson Hegland. President/ CEO, Modern West Advisory

    Jackson is President and CEO of the Modern West Group of Companies, including Modern West Advisory, one of Canada’s leading carbon economy advisory firms with expertise in carbon markets, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and ESG strategy & disclosure, the Modern West Climate Finance Group, an investment vehicle for nature-based carbon removal projects and clean carbon technology, and Aspenwood Innovations, a US-based consulting firm focused on product life-cycle analysis.

    He is also founder and Board Chair of the Methane Emissions Leadership Alliance: an industry association composed of methane reduction technology and service providers, and Board Secretary of BLab US/Canada (a not-for-profit promoting business as a force for good).

    Jackson graduated from Princeton University in New Jersey, USA, with a degree in Environmental Economics.

    Dr. Mark Charlton

    Associate Professor of Sustainable Development & Associate Director of DMU United Nations Academic Impact SDG Hub

    Dr Mark Charlton is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Development and leads the United Nations Academic Impact Global hub for Sustainable Development Goal 16, based at DMU. Mark also teaches sustainable development politics in the department of Politics. His current research looks at efforts to tackle climate change in marginalised communities. He  is also working with refugee communities in the United Kingdom and beyond on projects to help understand the challenges faced by those affected by forced migration.



    Matt Toohey.

    Chief Sustainability Officer & Vice President, ESG & Climate Impact, Modern West Advisory

    Matt oversees the global MWA ESG and Sustainable Business Practice inclusive of over 25 corporate clients and a team of highly talented professionals. He brings leading industry expertise in corporate ESG and climate management and strategy development. Before joining MWA in 2021, he spent seven years working at TransAlta as their Global Sustainability and ESG Lead, developing their climate management reduction plans (including their 2030 GHG target and 2050 carbon neutrality strategy), spearheading their integrated reporting initiative (combined financial and sustainability reporting), supporting a large coal transition, and supporting the development of a diverse renewable energy fleet. 

    Matt also worked at ARC Resources for nine years in the capital markets and investor relations function, during which time he also oversaw the communications team. Matt has an MSc. in Renewable Energy, Enterprise Management, and Sustainability. Matt previously served on the Government of Alberta’s ESG Working Group and was the Board Chair for Connecting Environmental Professionals. He was awarded ‘Top 40 under 40’ in Calgary by Avenue Magazine in 2019.

    Engr. Kolapo Bolade is a COREN registered Engineer, SocEnv (UK) registered Environmental Practitioner, NESREA (Nigeria) registered Environmental Consultant with Masters in Business Administration(MBA) degree.

    An highly regarded Health & Safety and Environmental, Social impact & Safeguard specialist, with experience in promoting ESG agenda in FMCG, Tobacco & Mining sectors for Private investors in Africa & help drive E&S regulatory compliance. My key areas of competence are ESG Consultancy & trainings; Health & Safety; Engineering Projects management; Environmental & Social Sustainability advisory; Impact assessment and Management; Independent Verification and Assessment (IVA); Sustainability Reporting and Assurance, PRI-Responsible Investment; Suppliers audit programme, and Sustainability deployment across many sectors.

He started his career as a Research Assistant at the University of Stavanger before joining PM Lucas as an Engineer where he honed his data science skills. He also worked as a Reservoir Engineer at NIS Gazprom before joining MudoZangl as a Domain Expert with subject matter expertise in integrated gas management, workflow integration, ESG reporting, and greenhouse gas emissions accounting.

    Dr. Edward Mungai is a thought leader and certified Global Sustainability Expert with over a decade of experience in sustainability and climate change advisory. As a Partner and Lead Consultant at Impact Africa Consulting Limited (IACL), he spearheads Strategic Sustainability Advisory, Enterprise Support, Impact Assessment, and Capacity Building services for public and private sectors, multilateral and bilateral organizations, development agencies, and NGOs across Africa. His work focuses on integrating sustainability into business operations, emphasizing environmental excellence, sustainable consumerism and production, and the triple bottom line.

    Dr. Mungai holds a PhD in Business Management with a specialization in Environmental Sustainability from Strathmore University Business School. He also has an Executive MBA from the Scandinavian International Management Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Moi University in Kenya. Additionally, he is advancing as a Chartered Finance Analyst (CFA) Level II candidate and is a certified GRI Sustainability Trainer.
